What a way to kick off the 2026 season! Brad Freeman just delivered one of the most emotional comebacks you’ll see all year, storming to victory on day two of the EnduroGP of Italy and sending the Sicilian crowd wild!
All of that happened after he missed the entire 2025 season with a brutal knee injury, the Beta Factory Team rider fought through serious mental pressure and powered his way to the top step. Freeman crossed the line 4.92 seconds ahead of the pack in a heart-pounding finish that had everyone on their feet!
In his own words, the emotion poured out:
“Mentally it was tough today to manage things, but I kept pushing. Taking the win and seeing my daughter’s face at the end made it worth it. Coming back to racing with a win is great — I feel like it’s going to be a good year!”
Chills, right? That’s pure racing passion!
This weekend did really explode, it kicked off with fireworks on Friday. Reigning champion Josep Garcia (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) absolutely dominated the Akrapovic Super Test, clocking a blistering 2:04.98 — nearly a second quicker than Antoine Magain. Garcia kept the fire burning on Saturday, taking a commanding day one overall victory and grabbing the early championship lead.
But Sunday? Sunday was pure chaos and glory. The top five riders were separated by just 12 seconds after nearly an hour of flat-out racing. Steve Holcombe was leading until he crashed hard in the penultimate Enduro Test, opening the door for Freeman to charge through and snatch the win.
Home hero Andrea Verona pushed hard for second (and took the Enduro2 class win), while Garcia battled back from an ankle-twisting crash to finish third and stay right in the title hunt.

Verona captured the intensity perfectly:
“The gaps were very tight, so I’m happy to come away with the Enduro2 win and second overall, just a few seconds from the victory.”
This Sicily round was stacked with talent — 14 world champions among the 34 riders in the EnduroGP class. The level this year is absolutely insane!
Let’s see together now what happened in the Women’s championship, Justine Martel (Ambiance Moto Beta) was on absolute fire! She swept both days with confident, hard-charging rides, proving her winter training and new team setup are paying off big time.
Martel beamed after the double win:
“To win both days is a great weekend for me. Over the winter I worked hard to improve, and with a new bike and new team, it’s going in the right direction this season.”
Yes, queen!
WHAT’S COMING NEXT?!
