Welcome back national enduro fans. For Round 9 we ventured west to Tulsa Oklahoma where we were met with the iconic John Zink Ranch.

The KTM Zink Ranch National Enduro is one of the preferred west round amongst NEPG Racers. Just outside of Tulsa Oklahoma, the 33,000 acre Zink Ranch is known for its fast and flowy trails, vairying types of soil, and embedded rocks.

On Friday and Saturday the Tulsa Trail Riders presented the 94 Six Days EnduroFest. In 1994 the International Six Days Enduro was held at the ranch and when it was over, most of the competitors agreed that it was one of the most grueling ISDE events ever. Of the 540 entrants, only 330 of them saw the finish line after six days of battling the brutally rocky Oklahoma terrain.

Coming into this race we saw a new face in the NE Pro 2 class. Chase Landers aboard his Factory KTM Landers Racing machine, wrapped up his A class championship at the last round, so he made the jump up to Pro 2 where he would get a good taste of his competitors speeds. With no expectations for his finish he would find himself in 11th on the day.

Factory FMF RedBull Racing KTM rider Grant Davis would start the day off ahead, finishing 1st in the first two test. However a big mistake in test 3 would set him back 8 seconds short of the podium at the end of the day.

Nathanial Bubz Tasha on his AM-Pro Yamaha was not the fastest rider in Pro 2 but his consistency made up for it. Finishing no worse than 6th in any test but no better than 2nd he would find himself on the third step of the podium.

Babbits Kawasaki rider Nicholas Defeo who loves racing on the Oklahoma terrain, stayed close to the top all day consistently finishing in the top 3 in every test and grabbing the test 3 win. Nicholas would walk away on the second step of the podium.

For his first time this year Rocky Mountain ATV/MC Red Bear Racing Kawasaki rider Will Sievenpiper would find himself on the top step of the podium. Taking his time at the beginning of the day he finished the first 3 test no worse than 3rd. Going into the last two tests he found another gear gaining the time it would take to finish in 1st.

Coming back off of injury Am-Pro Yamaha rider Ricky Russel feeling healthy and well rested put that to use. It took Ricky a couple test to get back to the racing speed, but once he did, it was hard for anyone to keep his pace. Getting 2 test wins and finishing better than 5th in all the test, Ricky would find himself finishing 3rd on the day.

Steward Baylor Jr. on his Rocky Mountain ATV/MC Red Bear Racing machine may not have been the fastest, however his consistency made up for it. Stew was able to finish in the top 3 every test. He noted that his raw kind of riding style helped him to stay fast on the Oklahoma trails.

Enduro Engineering GasGas rider Josh Toth came into this round with his head high and full of excitement to wrap the title up. Josh needed to finish in 1st to get it done and that’s exactly what he did. Josh made a statement early in the day finishing 1st in the first two test. With the lead Josh had going into test 3 he was able to take it down a notch and ride the rest of him race out clean and consistent.

In the women’s Elite class Prestin Raines on her BoneCutter Offroad Sherco raced her hardest all day. She was able to stay in the top 4 every test, but a 2nd in test 2 would give her the time needed to finish on the 3rd step of the podium.

Shelby Turner on her Enduro Engineering GasGas stayed consistent the whole day. Finishing 2nd in all but 1 test, was all she needed to finish 2nd on the day.

Rocky Mountain ATV/MC Red Bear Racing rider Rachel Archer was also coming into this round with expectations of wrapping the Women’s Elite Championship up. With that in mind she did not hold back finishing 1st in every test.

With only one more round to go, we are left with one more title to wrap up. Grant Davis who sits only 14 points ahead of Nathaniel Bubz Tasha will need to finish better than 5th to guarantee his title.

Thanks to everyone that attended the KTM Zink Ranch National Enduro we hope you enjoyed the ride. Be sure to head on over to ktm.com and check all the KTM models offered for your next ride.

We will see you all at round ten in Maplesville Alabama for the Motion Pro Gobbler Getter Enduro on Nov. 3rd
